What To Expect From A High School Private Tutor

What To Expect From A High School Private TutorAs you are going through your high school years, you may be in the process of getting a private tutor for your studies. In this article, we will discuss a few things that you can do to help make your private tutor experience better and how you can benefit from the process of hiring a private tutor for your studies.Once you have decided to hire a tutor, the first thing you should do is find a reputable and qualified tutor to work with. If you want to get the best tutor, make sure that you are able to interview a number of private tutors so that you will be able to compare their qualities and experiences. There are many sources of information about who and what private tutors are like and how they work. The Internet and other avenues for finding information are good places to start. When you are searching for a private tutor, make sure that you find one that has a specific area of specialization. For example, if you have just started colleg e and have some college-level courses to take, it is more effective to find a tutor that is specialized in college courses than it would be to search for one that has little experience in college teaching. Be sure to choose a tutor that has a demonstrated track record of success in his or her specific area of expertise.Next, be sure that the tutor is someone that you will feel comfortable having in your class and in your high school. Just because a tutor is certified by a professional organization does not mean that the person is someone you can feel comfortable having in your classroom. You should have confidence in the teacher or instructors and the tutor that you are choosing. You should also make sure that the tutor is experienced in both the subjects that you will be learning and the subject matter that is most relevant to your class. Don't be afraid to ask the tutor about their background and past experiences in the area that you will be studying. This will give you a better un derstanding of what type of learning experience that the tutor can provide you with.Always keep in mind that when you are choosing a tutor for your high school classes, you will be paying for the service. Therefore, you should be ready to pay the price that you think the tutor is worth. You should also be willing to pay a fee that will include the cost of time that the tutor will spend in your class.A private tutor is a valuable resource for high school students and should be used as such. However, there is no reason that you should feel like you cannot find a good tutor without having to spend a lot of money on the services that are provided. Make sure that you are able to meet all of the requirements that are set forth for hiring a private tutor.Remember that the private tutor is there to help you succeed, and therefore, should be treated as such. Make sure that you are ready to pay for the services that you will be receiving, and make sure that you are prepared to pay the right p rice for the services that you will be receiving.

Where Can You Use a Chemistry Degree?

Where Can You Use a Chemistry Degree?Do you have a chemistry degree and want to apply it in everyday life? There are so many ways to put a chemistry education to work. Chemistry is all about finding out how things work. We can learn about the difference between solvents and gasses, the interrelationships between them, and even how different reactions relate to one another by reading about the concept of chemistry. In today's world, we are inundated with plenty of things that have chemicals in them. Even the things that are made of plastic have to be coated with some sort of chemical. Learning chemistry will help us recognize the role that chemicals play in our everyday lives. If you have a chemical engineering degree, you may want to look into working as a chemical engineering consultant. You'll need to know the science behind the construction of a structure, such as buildings and pipelines. You can help these companies improve their designs by explaining to them how elements in materi als react and why.Chemical engineering isn't just useful in structures. It also helps engineers to keep track of different compounds that are used in many kinds of industries. It is vital to the industrial process because it determines how a compound interacts with other compounds and with matter at its surface. For example, how do you compare pesticides and herbicides? A chemistry degree is necessary to answer this question. A degree is needed to determine the chemical properties of each compound, such as how long it takes for a compound to break down, how damaging it is to plants, and how long it takes for something to damage its surroundings. If you have a college degree in chemistry, you can consider working as a chemical engineer for a common industry, like a pharmaceutical company. Chemical engineers are responsible for designing products that have been developed in collaboration with researchers. They are concerned with the ability of a product to interact with a variety of dif ferent substances. As an example, a pharmaceutical company might use a chemical that has been tested to help people with allergies to citrus fruits. The reason that a chemistry degree is a common thing is because it teaches the process of chemistry. Although your career may involve it, you can actually do a job of using it, too. This is how to use a chemistry degree to make a living!

The Ins and Outs of Recording a Demo

The Ins and Outs of Recording a Demo Suzy S. In a big boom for the music industry, Adele has surpassed the 5 million sales mark this week, the first artist to hit that record in one year since 2004.   The feat is great for the industry, which as a whole has been struggling the past few years.   According to Reuters, album sales have been decreasing an average of 8 percent each year since 2000, with a jump to 13 percent between 2009 and 2010.   As more fans turn to digital music, it will be interesting to see how this affects album sales in the future. If recording an album is on your bucket list or if youre hoping to make it big in the industry its time to stop making excuses!   If you dont have the funds for a studio session, there are tons of recording programs available to help you become a pro in your own home.   And once you have that demo, the skys the limit.   Send it out to record labels, sell it at any open mics or gigs you go to, and dont underestimate the power of word of mouth. Heres a great list we found to keep your to-do list in check as you prepare for recording a demo: 1. Pick your recording venue. Are you going to book a studio? Are you going to record at home using your computer? Make sure whichever venue you choose is equipped with everything you need, and if youre recording at home, make sure you understand the acoustical quirks of the room. 2. Choose your recording method. There are two basic choices available to you:   Recording live that is, all instruments and vocals being recorded in one take produces a raw, rough sound.   Or multi-track recording each instrument being recorded independently on its own track- gives cleaner and more polished sound.   The right one for you depends on the music you are making. Hardcore punk? Go live. Radio friendly pop? Go multi-track. 3. Set up. For the drums, each individual drum should be miked, and the cymbals should each have two mics. The bass and guitar should each go through a DI. If you have a double guitar part, or to get a really clean sound, the guitarist can have a mic plus be hooked up to an amp in separate room, to prevent bleed of the amp sound into the mic. 4. Record. Time to do the actual recording. Dont get caught up in the details and dont record for hours on end. A demo should be short, sweet, and to the point. 5. Mix your recording. Remember that labels dont expect a demo to be perfect.   If youre recording at home on a computer, and mixing is easy enough, dont feel pressured to execute a perfect mix. A rough mix is fine.   If youre recording in a studio, the engineer or producer can mix your recording for you. 6. Master your recording. (This step is completely optional.) Mastering involves a final EQ process and also adds a bit of compression. Keep in mind that people who master recordings have styles all their own; no two people will master the same recording in the same way. If you decide to get your recording mastered, make sure you get an unmastered copy as well, in case you dont like the finished product. Online Work Formula Tutors

Online Work Formula Tutors Work in math involves math questions based on work done by certain number of people in a given amount of time period. In general when we observe, we know that work is dependent on the amount of time taken because to complete any task, a certain period of time is required. While solving questions related to work in math, we use this relation between work and time and calculate the total time taken to complete the given work accordingly. Example 1: Matt takes 20minutes time to mow a lawn and Jake takes 30 minutes to mow the same lawn. How much time will it take if both Matt and Jake mow the lawn together? Let time taken by Matt be, t1= 20mins Let time taken by Jake be, t2= 30mins Now time taken by both Matt and Jake to mow the lawn together be= t Then the work formula==1/t1+ 1/t2 = 1/t Using the above formula, we get: 1/20+ 1/30= 1/t == (30+ 20)/ 600= 1/t==50/600= 1/t Hence we get: time, t= 600/50= 12minutes. Example 2: Brett takes 3 hours to paint a house and Carl takes 5 hours to paint the same house. How much time will it take if both Brett and Carl paint the house together? Let time taken by Brett be, t1= 3hours Let time taken by Jake be, t2= 5hours Time taken by both Brett and Carl to paint the house together be= t Then the work formula==1/t1+ 1/t2 = 1/t Using the above formula, we get: 1/3+ 1/5= 1/t == (3+ 5)/15= 1/t==8/15= 1/t Hence we get: time, t= 15/8= 1.875hrs

3 Workplace Health Promotion Ideas to Increase Productivity - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / 3 Workplace Health Promotion Ideas to Increase Productivity - Introvert Whisperer 3 Workplace Health Promotion Ideas to Increase Productivity Keeping employees healthy is crucial for ensuring they show up to work each day able to put their best foot forward. But as employers, it’s hard for us to recognize that health and wellness are actually a crucial part of being a great company to work for. While we may worry about our productivity levels or what should actually be included in work requirements, an appropriate wellness plan can actually help improve business and encourage employees to get more done. Including a corporate wellness plan for your employees doesn’t need to be expensive or extremely detailed. Instead, it can focus on simple changes such as keeping an office clean or encouraging healthy behaviors in fighting off colds and flus. These little changes around the office can help your employees stay healthy, ensuring they come into work each day prepared to tackle their projects and meet deadlines. Here are a few ideas on understanding what is work health and safety and how to prevent cold and flu in the workplace. 1. Keep a Clean Office If you want to prevent your employees from catching a cold or coming down with the flu, you need to understand what causes a cold. While cold-like symptoms can come just from the weather changing or things like allergies, of which you probably can’t avoid, a clean office or workspace prevents the spreading of contagious germs that can lead to sickness. Professional office cleaning services are usually worth the investment, even if you can only bring them in once a week. While you and your team can wipe down door knobs, keyboards, and other shared items during the week, professional cleaners get all the cracks you forget about. 2. Get Moving It may seem counterproductive to encourage your employees to get away from their desks as a method of how to increase productivity at work, but it is crucial for keeping them healthy and happy. There are many ways to promote movement at work, including pushing for walking breaks or allowing employees to take extended time away during the day to go for runs or head to the gym. When your employees focus on maintaining their health through exercising regularly, they can boost their immune system and fight off colds or the flu more easily. Additionally, getting up and away from the computer screen or desk can be refreshing on the mind, allowing employees to come back to work feeling ready to tackle the projects at hand. 3. Encourage Healthy Eating A major part of ensuring our employees don’t get sick during cold and flu season comes from eating healthy and getting the nutrients and vitamins that we need. If we see our employees grabbing fast food like cheeseburgers or pizza for lunch, they’re putting themselves at risk for getting sick â€" which decreases your productivity and can hurt business. But if there aren’t healthy options available, it can be difficult for your employees to get nutritious meals. Try to keep healthy snacks around the office that your employees can grab if they need it. Things like oranges or apples come relatively cheap at the grocery store and can provide a burst of vitamins to hungry employees, giving them energy and keeping them focused. If you have the budget, catered meals once in awhile can be a great way to ensure your employees are eating properly while also showing your care and dedication to their well-being. Our employees spend most of their weeks with us, meaning that while some employers may think health or wellness at work is something they don’t need to worry about, investing in a corporate wellness program is actually a great investment in our companies. As we train our employees to do a particular job each day, we need them to show up for work each day. Calling in sick can put the entire project behind schedule, causes other individuals to miss important due dates or deadlines, and decrease productivity. Keeping a clean office, encouraging movement and exercise throughout the day, and promoting healthy eating habits are just a few of the ways that you can encourage health and wellness in the workplace. To create a plan that fits your needs and the needs of your employees, pay attention to their habits, ask what they would find beneficial, and do whatever is in your power as their employer to help them meet those needs. As you focus on wellness, youll be surprised at the increase in productivity.

ChaptersAstronomy, Astrophysics, and Cosmology: What’s are these Different Disciplines?Major Milestones in Astronomy and Astrophysics. What’s in the Solar System? The Life Cycle of a Star.Is there Alien Life in the Universe? There is a reason why even the most ancient humans were amateur astronomers, mapping the orbit of the moon and the movements of the stars. There’s a reason too that kids are as fascinated by space as they are by dinosaurs, thinking about the Big Bang, distant galaxies, and stars and planets. There’s a reason too why many religions from history have often identified the ‘celestial sphere’ with the gods, the heavens, and the angels.Maybe there are two reasons.Firstly, space â€" that area above and all around us that astronomers, astrophysicists, and cosmologists are so interested in â€" is a place so alien (excuse the pun), so completely different and unknown, that it is a source of fascination. We don’t really know what’s there â€" and the accretion of our knowledge has been very slow. And secondly, it is a place of total wonder. Every night of our lives we are surrounded by the sight of this place, a place so incredibly beautiful and so completely massive that it is no surprise that it was associated with the gods. Looking up at the sky â€" and thinking of our place in the galaxy â€" is a humbling experience. Here, we are going to dive into space and uncover the answers to some of the most common questions about the world outside our world, the place outside our Earth’s atmosphere.Starting from a technical question â€" what is the difference between the astronomical, the astrophysical, and the cosmological? â€" we’ll end with perhaps the biggest question of all: is there life outside of our world?Let’s get cracking. Some images of space are just jaw-dropping. It’s not, on the surface, the most interesting question about space. However, it draws out some important â€" and actually quite fascinating â€" problems that space scientists have to deal with.Because not everyone who studies space does the sa me thing â€" and nor do they ask the same questions. Just as a scientist who studies life might ask different questions â€" how many species of plant are there? how do cells work? what is the meaning of life? â€" these same differences between questions occur in questions of space too.So, you tell us which sort of space scientist you would like to be: an astronomer, an astrophysicist, or a cosmologist? You can find out more on this subject, by the way, in our article on the differences between astronomy, astrophysics, and cosmology!Astronomy.Astronomy, broadly speaking, is the study of the things in the universe â€" celestial bodies, asteroids and comets, constellations, and the stuff between them â€" and their positions and their movements.Astronomers use fairly traditional observational techniques â€" including highly sophisticated telescopes - to describe what they see and to calculate the interactions between orbits and objects. We have been practising astronomy for millennia â€" in all different civilisations and parts of the world â€" and the recent history of the discipline has been concerned with discovering new objects, galaxies, and background radiation.Astrophysics.If astronomy is the larger, umbrella term, astrophysics makes up part of this discipline. Where we might say that astronomy is mainly descriptive, astrophysics seeks to explain the processes and mechanics of the universe. This means applying our knowledge of physics to the phenomena in space â€" using theories of thermodynamics, nuclear fusion, quantum mechanics, and particle physics. Some say that all astronomy these days â€" given its complexity â€" is essentially astrophysics, as attention has turned from describing the universe to explaining it.Dark matter, dark energy, and black hole theory are all problematics with which astrophysicists work.Cosmology.Finally, cosmology asks the big questions. This discipline grew out of the ancient practice of explaining the origin, development, and st ructure of the universe as a whole. Is the universe expanding and why? Did the Big Bang start the universe, and if so, why did it happen?Cosmology deals with the big theoretical questions that the others sort of leave aside. However, cosmologists rely on the data drawn from the other subjects.Take out time to find a physics maths tutor for private classes.. Nebulae are some of the most beautiful things in the universe.Major Milestones in Astronomy and Astrophysics. As we know, the progress of astronomy and astrophysics has been slow. However, in recent centuries, it has sped up dramatically. Here we’re going to look at the biggest discoveries in astronomy â€" from the present up until now. However, we’re talking the very biggest right now, for reasons of space. If you want to read more about this, check out our article on the developments of astronomy.Galileo Proves Heliocentrism â€" 1610.Up until the sixteenth century, people were really quite convinced that the Sun and the rest of the universe were orbiting the Earth. And whilst Copernicus theorised that the Earth in fact orbits the sun in the 1540s, Galileo proved it at the beginning of the seventeenth century. This literally changed science forever.Isaac Newton Cracks Gravity â€" 1687.Without Newton, we’d understand nothing. Because, the cute little story about the apple landing on his head besides, his understanding of gravity made everything else possible.Joseph van Fraunhofer â€" 1814.A little-known bloke outside of science, Joseph van Fraunhofer made astrophysics a discipline that matters â€" with his invention of spectroscopy.Einstein Changes the World with his Theory of General Relativity â€" 1905.We all know now that e equals mc ². Yet, we didn’t before Einstein. All that stuff with atomic theory we do these days? And, considering that there are potentially billions of galaxies, the number of solar systems in the universe is eye-watering.Here’s what is in our solar system â€" and you can find more in our article on The Solar System. The Sun.At the centre of it all sits the Sun. Say what you like â€" it blazes, boils, or burns â€" but really it does none of these things. It turns hydrogen into helium and converts mass to energy â€" but, sure, it is as hot as hell. The Planets. You know these: Mercury, Venus, Eart h, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. We don’t talk about Pluto anymore.Planets need to clear their neighbourhood â€" meaning they have to be big enough to have destroyed all in their orbit.Other Celestial Objects.Dwarf planets (that’s where Pluto comes in), asteroids, comets, and all sorts of other bits and bobs. They are all held together by the Sun’s gravity. And Beyond our Solar System? After Neptune and the Kuiper Belt, you have the interstellar medium â€" the space between stars. What happens there? We’re not quite sure just yet.The Life Cycle of a Star.Stars form, release huge amounts of energy for billions of years and then, when their hydrogen has burned up, they and disappear â€" or else, explode into supernovae or become black holes. In short, that’s that, but let’s have a look at the main stages in greater detail. If you want more detail, check out our article on the lifecycle of stars.Nebulae and Protostars.Star formation begins from the debris of prev ious stars â€" the gas and dust left over from past astrophysical phenomena. These clouds we call nebulae. A nebula will float around in space, under conditions of great cold. As they become colder, their gases become denser, and their gravitational strength grows.Slowly, they pull in all this dust into the nebula core, which slowly becomes warmer with the pressure. As they grow, they become protostars. The sun is the centre of our solar systemMain Sequence Stars.Stars remain protostars when they are still growing and become main sequence stars when they reach stability.Stars will remain main sequence stars for ninety percent of their life.Dwarfs and Supernovae.Toward the end of their life, stars run out of fuel. Without this energy, they cannot sustain their shape. The smaller stars become white dwarfs â€" dense stars that cool down from the outside. They tend to fade away. The bigger ones, as the result of various chemical reactions, collapse in seconds â€" causing a supernova that is brighter than a galaxy.Black Holes. The very biggest stars become black holes as the result of collapsing in one themselves. Hugely dense, their gravity is massive â€" meaning they pull everything in that is around them.Is there Alien Life in the Universe? With all this action, there’s quite an interesting question. Surely, we can’t be the only consciousnesses in the universe to have the honour of ap preciating all this drama?Maybe we are, maybe we’re not. But it would be very unlikely if, in the universe’s infiniteness, there were only us that could be called ‘life’.Find out more about this in our article on alien life.

GCSE Results Day A Guide for Parents

GCSE Results Day A Guide for Parents Mark Maclaine  - education consultant, star tutor and Tutorfair founder â€" advises on how to support your child on GCSE results day. Results day is not only a big day for your teenager, it is a big day for parents too. Your children are growing up, becoming young adults and beginning to make their own choices for the future. But they haven’t flown the nest just yet, so it’s important you’re there to offer the right guidance and support. You are the rock Remember to keep a level head; your role is to be supportive and reassuring. It is understandable as a parent to be emotional on a day that your children enter a new chapter of their lives; but this day is about your child’s feelings, more than your own. There is a strong likelihood that your teenager’s greatest fear is your reaction to the results. Let him know that, however worried you might be yourself, you’re there for him. Listen to worries offer reassurance Reassure teenagers that whatever their results, you love them and are incredibly proud of their strength or hard work during a stressful time. This may seem obvious but it’s important for your child to hear it; you are (probably) the most important influence in her life. Get rid of the elephant in the room: sit down and talk about worries, as well as expectations of results day. Take the time to empathise with her fears; think about how you would feel if you were in his position. Just knowing there’s someone to share the worry is a huge help to teenagers. Exam results aren’t everything If your teenager is unduly worried, it might help to discuss the implications of exam results â€" good or bad. Ask her: what will happen if the results are not as good as hoped? What will it actually mean for her future? Hopefully your child will realise that exam results aren’t ‘everything’, and the worst that can possibly happen â€" isn’t actually that bad. Future success isn’t decided on this one day and there are plenty of options to improve results. Let her know that ‘failure’ is allowed â€" in fact it can be very valuable. A friend of mine re-sat some of her GCSEs twice to get the grades she wanted. She later told me that she had learnt a valuable lesson from having to re-sit: how to really work hard. The work ethic she developed during this time carried her to a first class degree from Oxford. As well as offering reassurance, this mental preparation is important just in case things really don’t go according to plan, as it gives students time to process their thoughts in advance and make better informed decisions. Be patient Most teenagers want to rip open the results straight away; but some want to prepare themselves first. If your teenager is anxious about the results, then hovering in the background biting your fingernails will not help! Similarly, if he hasn’t called you to let you know the grades yet it doesn’t necessarily mean bad news. Find something to distract yourself if necessary, to give your child the space to absorb the results in his own time. What, when where? If you can, offer to accompany your child to collect results. Most teenagers prefer to collect them with friends, so don’t be offended if that’s the case â€" but try to be available to offer congratulations or commiserations. Check with the school about opening and closing times on GCSE results day, when to come in, and where to collect the results from. This could be from the school reception, your child’s form room, even the school dining room! Some schools allow online viewing of results; others refuse even to give them out over the phone. Is your child going somewhere else for 6th Form? Make sure you have contact details to hand in case the results haven’t met the entry requirements and you need to talk to someone there. Colleges do sometimes accept students who haven’t achieved their predicted results. It’s important to call as soon as possible to discuss the options open to you. Time to Celebrate? Your teen is a teen! He will likely want to celebrate or wallow on results day with his friends, and maybe even attend a book burning. This is the end of a chapter and a significant rite of passage for your child and his friends, and they will want to mark it together. Don’t take it personally, especially if the results are a disappointment â€" far better to commiserate with friends than sit in his room moping. But do plan a day to celebrate as a family - and remember: celebrate the effort, not the results! Your Teen  Didn't  Achieve Her Predicted Results â€" What now? Firstly don’t panic! Don’t feel pressured into making rushed decisions Encourage your child to talk to her school and college for advice and information If he is attending a 6th Form College, get in touch as he may be accepted anyway. If not, try another College or school for open places. Maths English re-sits can be sat either just before or after Christmas (depending on the exam boards), and others can be taken next summer. It is also possible to re-sit exams alongside her AS Levels if the school or college is happy with this.  Consider vocational options such as a GNVQ or BTEC. These courses are usually geared to specific careers and offer hands-on experience.
